Clothing

  • Lightweight, neutral-coloured clothes (avoid dark blue and black)
  • Long-sleeved shirts and trousers (for sun and mosquito protection)
  • Fleece or jacket for chilly mornings
  • Lightweight raincoat or poncho (especially March–May or Nov)
  • Comfortable closed shoes or hiking boots
  • Wide-brimmed hat and sunglasses
  • Swimsuit (for lodge pools or beach extensions)

Gear

  • Binoculars – essential for wildlife viewing
  • Camera – with extra memory cards and batteries
  • Reusable water bottle
  • Headlamp or flashlight
  • Daypack for game drives and short hikes
  • Travel adapter – Tanzania uses Type D & G plugs (230V)

Personal Items

  • Prescription medications (with copies of scripts)
  • First aid kit: band-aids, antiseptic, motion sickness tablets
  • High SPF sunscreen and insect repellent
  • Tissues, wipes, and hand sanitizer
  • Copies of passport, visa, and travel insurance
