Clothing
- Lightweight, neutral-coloured clothes (avoid dark blue and black)
- Long-sleeved shirts and trousers (for sun and mosquito protection)
- Fleece or jacket for chilly mornings
- Lightweight raincoat or poncho (especially March–May or Nov)
- Comfortable closed shoes or hiking boots
- Wide-brimmed hat and sunglasses
- Swimsuit (for lodge pools or beach extensions)
Gear
- Binoculars – essential for wildlife viewing
- Camera – with extra memory cards and batteries
- Reusable water bottle
- Headlamp or flashlight
- Daypack for game drives and short hikes
- Travel adapter – Tanzania uses Type D & G plugs (230V)
Personal Items
- Prescription medications (with copies of scripts)
- First aid kit: band-aids, antiseptic, motion sickness tablets
- High SPF sunscreen and insect repellent
- Tissues, wipes, and hand sanitizer
- Copies of passport, visa, and travel insurance
Tip: Use soft-sided luggage or duffel bags for ease of transport and compliance with light aircraft luggage limits (15–20 kg including hand luggage).
